    Dr Azeem Khan, MD, FACP, FACG. attended Medical School at Grant Medical College/Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, University of Bombay India. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College and a Chief Residency Year at McMaster University Medical Center, Ontario, Canada. He then received his Fellowship Training in Gastroenterology at WestChester County Medical Center, New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY

    Dr Khan is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine by- American Board of Internal Medicine. He is an elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians(FACP), and Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology(FACG) and Member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

    Dr Khan is on the attending medical staff at New York Hospital Queens/(NYHQ) and North Shore University Medical Center Manhassett. He is appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weil Cornell Medical College and is actively involved in teaching of the Gastroenterology Fellow in training at New York Hospital-Queens.

  • Thomas Izquierdo, M.D.

    Dr. Thomas Izquierdo, MD, FACG, attended the university Autonomous of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He completed his residency training in Internal medicine and Gastroenterology at The Brooklyn Hospital, Caledonian Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

    Dr. Izquierdo is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG) and member of The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASOE), and the Spanish American Medical Society of New York.

    Dr. Izquierdo is on the attending staff at New York Hospital of Queens (NYHQ), Flushing Hospital and the Brooklyn Hospital where he is actively involved in teaching of the Gastroenterology fellowship program.

    P. Paddu, M.D.

    Dr. P. Paddu has been in practice in Queens for over 30 years and has remained dedicated to the field of Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a specialist in Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy procedures as well as IRC treatment of Hemorrhoids. He continues to utilize cutting edge medical technology combined with a wealth of experience to provide his patients the best medical care possible.

    Education & Research:

    Dr. P. Paddu earned his medical degree from the acclaimed Osmania University in India. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Bergen Pines Hospital, Paramus, NJ (affiliated with the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey). Dr. Paddu then completed his fellowship training in Gastroenterology from the SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y. Dr. Paddu has also served as a clinical-instructor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. He is board-certified in four specialties including: Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Geriatric Medicine, and the American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Physicians.

    Dr. Paddu has participated in FDA-approved drug trails for drug companies such as: Glaxo Smith Kline, Aventis Pharmaceuticals, and Quintiles Research Company.

    Dr. Paddu has done research on Prostaglandin and Gastric Acid Secretion, while serving as a fellow at the Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY.

    Dr. Paddu was interviewed for the Indian Television Network (ITV) on topics related to Gastroenterology.

  • Khalessi Hosseini, MD
    Seyed Ali Khalessi Hosseini, MD

    Seyed Ali Khalessi Hosseini MD is a board certified gastroenterologist. He grew up in southern California and attended the University of California, Irvine. There he studied biomedical engineering (graduating cum laude) while conducting research on health outcomes associated with early feeding choices. He then went on to attend medical school at New York University, where he participated in several research studies with an emphasis on inflammatory bowel disorders. He subsequently completed his internal medicine residency at New York University as well.

    He then completed his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, one of the nation's leading liver transplant programs, while serving as chief fellow in his final year. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His clinical interests include general gastroenterology, liver disease, and inflammatory bowel disease. He performs general endoscopic procedures as well as endoscopic mucosal resection, high-resolution manometry, hemorrhoidal banding, and radio frequency ablation. He is fluent in Farsi.

    Dayna Panchal, DO

    Dayna Panchal DO is a board certified gastroenterologist dedicated to a patient-centered approach. She grew up in Queens, NY before attending medical school in Long Island at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. Afterwards, she completed her internal medicine residency training at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School program in Newark, NJ, where a passion for gastroenterology took root. During her time there, she was involved in multiple research projects on a wide range of topics including: cirrhosis, inflammatory bowel diseases, esophageal disorders, gastroparesis, and more. She went on to complete her Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship training also at Rutgers NewJersey Medical School program, one of the top rated liver transplant programs in the country. This experience equipped Dr. Panchal with advanced skills in liver disease management in addition to comprehensive gastrointestinal care.

    She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Now, returning to Queens to practice, Dr. Panchal is committed to providing expert gastrointestinal care to the community she grew up in. She is focused on delivering compassionate, patient-centered, and high quality care with a focus on improving the lives of her patients.

    She performs general endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, pushenteroscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection, esophageal dilation, high resolution manometry, hemorrhoidal banding, and radiofrequency ablation. She is fluent in Gujarati and has basic proficiency in Hindi.
